So…what exactly is a Spoggle? Is that even a real word? Yes, it is. If you have ever worked for a company that is truly safety conscious, you should have heard the term. If you haven’t worked for a safety-conscious entity, read on: A spoggle is a safety glass and a goggle, combined with a foam lining for additional safety. Another name for them is foam lined safety glasses.
Safety glasses basically protect your eyes from large items flying at you. Personally, I would just prefer not to work in that environment! Goggles are a little better, since they enclose your eyes and protect more of your face and your temple. The whole idea of the SPOGGLE, however, is to protect your eye completely! One of the leading causes of eye injuries in the workplace today is simply airborne dust and debris. Because Spoggles enclose your eye securely, and seal comfortably to the face with the foam lining, they prevent the dust and debris entering your eyes.
Okay…they are NOT a fashion statement, but what are you looking for here – to keep your eyesight, or make points with the paparazzi?
